Screening and assessment services
In line with its commitment to offer a high value solution to its clients, G4S, Ghana is launching a Screening & Assessment Service in the Ghanaian market.
There are currently many reports circulating through the business press suggesting that fraud and “white collar” crime is on the increase. A 2007 Price-WaterhouseCooper’s study suggested that Africa has the highest number of companies affected by economic crime in the world and when economies decline, scientific evidence suggests that fraud increases. As organizations focus on cost-cutting and rationalization, employees will find new ways to circumvent systems and processes and to commit fraud.
G4S Risk Management’s Vetting, Integrity Testing & Psychometric Profiling Services will assist companies to combat fraud, to reduce loss and to improve profitability. G4S advocates that apart from pre-employment screening, regular re-assessment of staff is imperative to maintain and to grow an ethical conscience in any company. Moreover, through screening, employers are better able to identify which of their employees are most likely to commit themselves to the success of the business and those that perhaps do not merit further investment of time or resources.
Integrity assessments are a pro-active way of combating crime as well as preventing or mitigating the human risks that are part of growing a modern company. The screening of existing and prospective employees by means of a carefully controlled assessment process could be seen as a market differentiator and a means to assist managers to better predict and plan for success.
The G4S system will compile an integrity profile of an employee with emphasis on “ethical behaviour in the work environment” and “compatibility with specific job requirements”. The evaluation will also indicate where an employee’s responses could raise concerns over integrity and honesty, as well as other behaviours that could be detrimental to a company’s progress.
